Using TypeTrance
TypeTrance is provided by ColsonSuperApps LLC. You may use it for personal practice and enjoyment. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities outside responsible disclosure, scrape it at scale, or misrepresent automated input as your own typing in any ranked or shared result.
Fair play
Scores are only meaningful when they are honest. Results produced with scripts, macros, pasted text or other automation may be removed from any public ranking, and repeated abuse may lead to loss of access to competitive features.
Subscriptions: TypeTrance Plus and Patron
Not on sale yet. TypeTrance Plus and Patron cannot be bought yet. This section applies from the day they open; until then nothing in it is offered or charged.
TypeTrance is free to use. TypeTrance Plus and TypeTrance Patron are optional paid subscriptions sold by ColsonSuperApps LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (registered office: 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA; support@colsonsuperapps.com). This section applies in addition to the rest of these terms.
Who can subscribe
You need a TypeTrance account and must be 18 or older. An account can hold one subscription at a time.
What you get
The plans page (account.typetrance.com/plus) lists what each subscription includes today and, separately, what is planned. Only what is listed as included is part of the price; a planned feature is never sold as available. Patron includes everything in Plus for every period you pay for, plus the Patron mark. No subscription gives any advantage in ranked play or standings. When a subscription ends you keep your practice history, settings and everything you earned.
Price, currency and tax
Prices are in US dollars and include any sales tax or VAT we are required to collect, so the price shown is the price you pay (your bank may add its own currency conversion fee). Plus costs USD 4.99 per month or USD 29.99 per year. Patron costs the amount you choose, at least USD 50.00 and at most USD 5,000.00 per month or per year.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription starts when your first payment is confirmed and renews automatically at the end of each period (every month or every year, as you chose) at the same price, charged to the payment method you gave, until you cancel. Before you pay, the plans page and the checkout page show the price, how often you will be charged and how to cancel, and you confirm that you agree to these terms. We keep a record of that confirmation. Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment, and for yearly subscriptions we email you a reminder at least 15 days before each renewal.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time, online, without signing in: choose "Cancel contracts here" at the bottom of every page of the account site, or go straight to account.typetrance.com/cancel. Give the details that identify you and the subscription (for example the e-mail address you used at checkout) and choose "Cancel now". You can also cancel in Manage billing on account.typetrance.com/billing (Stripe's secure customer portal), or by email. There is no survey or offer to get through.
An ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, or on a later date if you name one. Your subscription stays active until then, and you are not charged again. The page shows you, and lets you save or print, what you declared and when we received it, and we confirm it by email. You may also cancel for cause; tell us the cause if you wish, and we will reply.
Refunds
Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the period you are in, except in these cases:
- you withdraw within 14 days (below): you get back what you paid minus the share of your first period that had passed when we received your withdrawal, rounded in your favour;
- the law where you live gives you another right to a refund;
- a duplicate or mistaken charge, which we refund in full;
- a yearly renewal you did not mean to keep: email us within 14 days of the renewal charge and we will refund it in full and end the subscription.
Refunds go back to the payment method you used. When a payment is refunded in full, the subscription benefits for the period it paid for end. While a payment is disputed with your bank, the subscription's benefits are paused until the dispute is resolved.
Your right of withdrawal (14 days)
You may withdraw from a subscription within 14 days after the day you bought it, without giving a reason. Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have this right by law; we offer the same to every subscriber.
Online: you can exercise your right of withdrawal online. Sign in, open account.typetrance.com/billing and choose "Withdraw from contract here" (also linked at the bottom of every page of the account site). The page names your contract and the deadline, lets you confirm your name and the email address for our acknowledgement, and has one button, "Confirm withdrawal". If you use this online feature, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt of the withdrawal on a durable medium (by email), including its content and the date and time of its submission, without undue delay.
By email: you can also tell us clearly before the 14 days end, for example by email to support@colsonsuperapps.com with the subject "Withdrawal"; you may use the model form below, but you do not have to.
A subscription is a digital service that starts as soon as you pay, so before checkout we ask you to confirm: "I agree to these subscription terms: it renews automatically at this price until I cancel, and I ask TypeTrance to start it immediately." If you then withdraw, your subscription ends at once and we refund your payment within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, to the payment method you used, minus an amount in proportion to the part of your first period that had passed when we received it. For example, withdrawing 3 days into a 30-day period of USD 4.99 refunds USD 4.50. This does not limit any other right you have under the law where you live.
Model withdrawal form. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and emails you so you can update your payment method. Your subscription stays active for up to 7 days after the first failed payment; after that it is paused until a payment succeeds, and if every retry fails the subscription may end.
Price changes
We may change the price of Plus for future periods. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you; it applies from your first renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then. The price of a period you have already paid for never changes, and we never change a Patron amount you chose.
Patron
Patron is a subscription, not a donation. You choose the amount, at least USD 50.00 per month or per year; it includes TypeTrance Plus for every period you pay for and the Patron mark. The money goes to ColsonSuperApps LLC, the company that builds TypeTrance. It is not a charitable gift and is not tax-deductible. To change the amount, cancel and start a new Patron subscription after the current period ends.
Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. TypeTrance never sees or stores your full card number. Where the checkout page names Stripe (through Link) as the seller of record, Stripe sells the subscription to you and handles the tax on it, and Stripe's terms also apply to the payment.
If we stop offering a subscription
If we discontinue Plus or Patron, we will stop all renewals, email you at least 30 days before the end where we can, and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
Content
The TypeTrance name, logo, design, original texts and software are owned by ColsonSuperApps LLC. Third-party materials — fonts, public-domain texts and licensed word lists and palettes — are used under their licenses, listed in our license inventory.
No guarantees
TypeTrance is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise any particular result, improvement or uptime, and practice results are not a certification of typing ability.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, ColsonSuperApps LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of TypeTrance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence gives you protections that cannot be waived.
