Fair playFair play policy

Ranked play is built but not open yet; this page says how it works when it opens. Every ranked run is scored again on our server and its timing is checked for signs of automation. A check is a reason for a person to look, never a verdict: no check can prove who typed a run, and we never claim one can.

How a ranked run is checked

Before a ranked run starts, a Cloudflare Turnstile check runs in the background so scripts cannot request runs in bulk; if it fails, the run is practice.

  1. Scored again on our server

Our server issues the text of every ranked run. When you submit, it replays your run through the same scoring engine your browser used and accepts the result only if every number matches. One challenge, one run.

  2. Timing statistics

It then looks at how the run was typed: whether repeated pairs of keys take a similar time, whether words start a little later than they continue, the rhythm and spread of the keystrokes, and how mistakes were corrected. Speeds far above your own earlier ranked runs, and very high speeds in your first week, are looked at too.

  3. A person checks the top

Every run that would enter the top 100 of a leaderboard waits for a moderator before it is shown. We aim to decide within 72 hours.

Typed key by key

A ranked run must be typed by you, one key at a time. In a ranked run the typing field refuses text that your keyboard or browser inserts for you — a suggestion, autocorrect, swipe, dictation or a paste — and the run stays practice: the results say Not ranked · assisted text and explain how to turn those features off on your device.

Scripts, macros and automation software are not allowed in ranked play (Terms). Hardware and touch keyboards race on separate leaderboards.

When a run is flagged

  1. Labelled or held

The checks never reject a run on their own. Some runs are shown with a label, for example when the page was hidden during the run. Others wait off the public leaderboards for a moderator, and you see pending review; while a review is open, your season and all-time entries stay private.

  2. A person decides

The moderator sees the run's numbers and its timing statistics, never the text you typed, and approves the run or removes it from the leaderboards.

  3. Always with reasons

A removal always comes with a statement of reasons written for you, kept with the run in your account's ranked record.

Appeal a decision

support@colsonsuperapps.com

If you think a decision is wrong, write to us with the subject "Ranked review", the format and the date of the run. A person looks at it again and answers with a statement of reasons. A decision can be reversed, and an approved run returns to the leaderboards.

Write soon if you can: a run's replay is kept for at least 30 days after the run. The timing statistics of a removed run are kept for a year, so a later appeal can still be checked.

What we never collect

  • What you type in practice

It never leaves your device. A ranked run sends its replay — the characters you typed over our text, and when — and three counts about input a key press does not explain.

  • What you paste

Pasted text is refused in ranked runs and never recorded.

  • Your device

Only whether it is used by touch or a fine pointer, and whether it is a phone, tablet or computer. Never its model, its system or your browser.

  • How you type, as a profile

Review records hold counts and statistics only: never the text, the keys, the pairs of keys or your keyboard layout. They are reduced after 90 days, or after a year for a removed run.

  • Anything beyond the page

No browser extension or system software to install, no screen recording, no camera or microphone.

  • Your location

A country appears beside your runs only if you choose one. We never look it up from your connection.
